HLY Marine Sdn Bhd (“HLY Marine”) had today signed an agreement with Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd (“YMC”), at the YMC’s headquarters in Iwata, Japan, whereby HLY Marine has been appointed as the exclusive re-seller and distributor of Yamaha Marine outboard motor products in Peninsular Malaysia. With this signing, HLY Marine, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Leong Industries Berhad, will put in place its 3S offerings which cover sales, service, and spare parts of Yamaha Marine outboard motor products which comprises the whole gamut of lightweight, heavyweight, and portable efficient power outboard motors.
“Naturally, we are excited with this appointment and have every confidence in the partnership. HLY Marine has the necessary expertise, and is also well positioned, to provide the level of quality and service that would be required by its clients” said Dato’ Jim Khor, Director of HLY Marine. “This appointment validates our solid track record with YMC” he added.
Mr. Usui Hirofumi, Executive Officer and Senior General Manager, Marine Business Operations of YMC, reinforced the long-standing relationship, “We look forward to working very closely and confidently with our exclusive distribution partner HLY Marine, towards forging a new and stronger distribution network in the Peninsular Malaysia.” The headquarters of HLY Marine will be based in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, and would house a central service centre outfitted by YMC.
At the event, HLY Marine was represented by its Director, Dato’ Jim Khor, and General Manager, Mr. Chow Khee Thiam, while representing YMC were Mr. Usui Hirofumi, Executive Officer and Senior General Manager, Marine Business Operations, and Mr Ando Satoshi, General Manager, 1st Marketing Division, Marine Business Operations.
